Baltimore City FOP Lodge 3 and IAFF Local 734 will distribute Thanksgiving meals to Baltimore residents today. The deliveries are the second initiative of the newly launched Community Outreach Campaign by Baltimoreโs public safety workersโ unions. The campaign arose from the belief that a safer Baltimore starts with strengthening ties between Baltimoreโs police officers and firefighters and Baltimore City residents.
Turkeys and all the sides will be distributed by off duty Baltimore City police officers and firefighters. The leadership of the FOP and IAFF worked closely with Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and members of City Council and various social and charitable organizations to identify families within each district who could use the help around the holidays.
