Owl Bar is Auctioning Off Some Historic Furniture

0 Written by: | Friday, Apr 24, 2015 3:00pm

OwlBar2-0Want to buy a piece of the Owl Bar? Figure out what you’re willing to bid.

The Owl Bar, located inside the Roosevelt Hotel, is holding an auction of historic items on May 31. The prime items up for bid will be six wooden banquettes that sat around the bar’s perimeter, dating to 1903.

“They have been replaced (we tried to incorporate into the new look, but to avail) with new ones, covered in faux zebra skins and rich oxblood mohair,” an announcement states.

An infamous antique stool will also be auctioned off.

Glenn Freeman, in conjunction with Jonathan Melnick, Auctioneer, will be running the bidding. Proceeds of the auction are set to benefit BARCS, and the organization is even bringing a few furry friends.
