Calvert School Diversity Club Gives to Marion House

At the beginning of May, Calvert’s Middle School Diversity Club organized a bake sale to benefit Marian House, a non-profit organization whose mission is to help rehabilitate women who are working towards a better life and are in need of their services. Marian House provides housing and support services to women and their children in the Baltimore area. Profits from the bake sale were used to create Mother’s Day baskets for participants of Marian House.

Oliver was the youngest recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Youth Fundraiser Award Winners.

Calvert Student Takes Polar Bear Plunge & Raises Over $21,000

Growing up, Calvert School student Oliver C. didn’t realize right away that his older sister, Sutton, had special needs. He only understood that she was special to him. Sutton was born prematurely and contracted meningitis at six weeks old, sustaining a brain injury because of it. She is 12 years old now and attends the Baltimore Lab School. In honor of Sutton, Oliver began participating in the Polar Bear Plunge when he was five years old with his grandfather. Since then, his team has expanded to include other friends and family members.
