What Would Your Baltimore Tattoo Look Like?

Chicago-based tattoo artist Kevin Leary just came up with a page of tattoo flash based on the Wire and, by extension, Baltimore. (Where does that dolphin come from, though?) It inspired us to go looking for Baltimore-themed tattoos on the internet. Sure, we’ve all seen the Boh man on some dude’s bicep, and the Maryland flag does make really nice ink art. But it turns out that Baltimore-themed tattoos can get way, way more elaborate than that:

Honestly, this looks more like a blend of Baltimore and the Eastern Shore — but hey, it’s pretty, so we’ll let that slide.

According to artist Johnny Love of Glen Burnie’s Tattooed Heart Studios, this full-on Baltimore sleeve features “a Baltimore Oriole, a baseball diamond, fireworks, a Maryland State Flag, The famous Baltimore Skyline, Black Eyed Susan flowers, The Natty Boh Guy, a Blue Crab and water.”

This one might be my favorite, if only because it manages to include both cartoon-smiley-Oriole as well as pensive-realistic-Oriole. Where’s the Raven, though?

Oh, there’s the Raven. Tattoo by Beth Kennedy.

Just imagine how excited this guy (or gal) would’ve been if the Ravens had gone to the Super Bowl and the Orioles had made it to the World Series.

Cute and colorful – whatever floats your boat. Makes me think of the SNL skit on the tattoo fast-forward of a hot girl who becomes a hag.
